Part of the province of Vercelli and a few kilometres away from Borgosesia, Valduggia is surrounded by the freshness of nature. Even though it is inhabited by just a couple of thousand residents, over the centuries it made itself known through the world. Firstly because it gave birth to Gaudenzio Ferrari, painter, sculptor, architect and one of the most relevant artist of the Renaissance period. He worked on many important churches, amongst which the Sacro Monte of Varallo, also called the "New Jerusalem". Similarly here was founded the historic Mazzola Bell Foundry, which products playeds in Italy and even overseas until the early 2000s. In terms of history and art, many are the treasures that the area preciously holds. Amongst them, the majestic Parish Church of Saints Andrew and Gaudentius, the Church of San Giorgio and the small, 16th-century oratory dedicated to San Rocco, located in the main square of the village under the eternal gaze of Ferrari’s statue. The great artistic value of Valduggia is enhanced by the surrounding nature, making the location a pleasant and peaceful place.
