In the district of Vercelli, at the heart of Bassa Valsesia, Roasio is a municipality of a few thousand residents constituted of five hamlets, of which San Maurizio is the main one. Roasio shares its hilly landscape and enological background with the neighbouring town of Gattinara. Visiting wine enthusiasts are greeted with a panorama of elegant vineyards upon gentle hills, best enjoyed with a glass of the local D.O.C. Bramaterra. Roasio lies within the Baragge Natural Reserve, the protected area shared between the provinces of Biella, Novara and Vercelli. The area’s trails are accessible on foot, horseback and mountain bike. The municipality is also home to the Romanesque church of Sant'Eusebio de' Pecurili and Lake Ravasanella, an artificial lake inhabited by carp, tench and pike. Quiet and secluded, Roasio is the right choice for those who want to wake up with the sounds of nature every morning.
