In the province of Novara and on the eastside of Lake Orta, Armeno was crowded since the Iron Age from Ligurians, Celts, Etruscans and Gauls as the archaeological finds of this area clearly shows. The Romanesque Parish Church of the Assunt, with its peculiar symbol of the Trinity represented by a three-headed body, makes the historical and artistic heritage richer. In addition to that, Armeno is also known for being the native land of outstanding figures in the catering and hotel industry, who came here every November to celebrate the Festa dei Cuochi. On the slopes of Mottarone, Armeno is characterized by suggestive itinerary which give the opportunity to discover the surrounding nature and religious piece of art, like Monte del Falò and the sanctuary of Madonna del Luciago. This area gives the best opportunity to live in close contact with the nature protected by Lake Orta.
